Jackhabbit Inc. is a startup based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, developing a personalized health and wellness platform aimed towards university students. Their main goal was to help students develop healthy habits through their personalized, all-in-one platform, Q-Life.
In 2020, JackHabbit Inc. had minimal online presence and no distinct brand identity. They wanted a logo that could better communicate their ethos as well as a website to establish their presence amongst potential investors and future clientele.
Hired as Jackhabbit’s Graphic and Web Designer, we explored couple of options before deciding to refine their existing original logo instead. (Everyone was attached to their original logo, as it was inspired during a play session of building blocks with the co-founder’s then toddler). I kept the distinct letter J, simplified its’ shape, and added brighter pastel colours. I wanted the updated colours to convey tranquility, growth, and optimism— mirroring the same values Jackhabbit seeks to bestow upon its users using Q-Life (short for Quality Life).
Since the previous Jackhabbit site was not accessible on all devices, another priority of mine was to remodel the site for mobile, tablet, desktop. My designs ensured web accessibility while evoking the same joy and optimism modelled in the logo.
